Wedding dress shopping

Aly, on July 8, 2020 at 6:30 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6
Has anyone done the virtual appointments? A lot of places in my city are only open for virtual appointments. Should I make the trip to find a dress somewhere else or are virtual appointments fine?

When I was originally wedding dress shopping, I ended up going to 13 stores before finding the one, because I knew exactly what I wanted. I could have saved myself so much time and disappointment if I had called or done something virtual earlier because I would have not even gone there after seeing what they had. I think you can do a virtual appt first and if nothing catches your eye don’t go in. It will help eliminate some dresses and stores for you. If you love the way something looks then see if you can go in. I would not buy a dress without trying it on and seeing in person, but you can narrow the search and what exactly you are looking for by doing a virtual.

I was going to say no, it the previous response has a good point. You could eliminate a whole trip to a particular store if you don’t like what they have. I personally was a “one and done” shopping experience. My consultant helped me envision a custom back to a gown and I wouldn’t have gotten that virtually.

I had no idea what I wanted. Things look different on a hanger than they do on. Heck they look different on one bride to another. There is no way a virtual appointment would have been helpful let alone allowed me to be able to try on a dress.
The dress I got is nothing like what I thought I was going to get. I think at least your first appointment needs to be in person so that you can try on different styles and narrow down what you like and what you don’t.

That should say let alone choose.
Obviously you can’t try on virtually

It might be helpful to decide if there are enough styles for you to try. But dresses look way different on. I worked in a bridal store and NEVER did any bride say “this is it!” when she saw it on the hanger. At some point, you’ll want to try them on. Then you’ll know.

I second this! You could also do a home try on through Azazie or Cocomelody if you’re unable to get into an actual store to try on dresses.
