Wedding Dress Shopping Seems Overwhelming!

Natalie, on September 23, 2019 at 2:20 PM Posted in California Planning 0 6

Hi gals! I'm very stressed out about where to shop for a wedding dress. I live in the Bay Area, and I want to purchase, not rent. I always dreamed that I would go to a boutique like Kleinfeld with my bride tribe and find a dress there - but now that I am saving for a wedding, that trip to the East Coast doesn't fit my budget. I'd still like to go to a salon, where I can physically try on gowns. I've already targeted BHLDN, but I would like some other options. Can anyone help me??

Have you searched bridal salons in your area and looked for ones with good reviews?

Cocomelody in Los Angeles has great reviews. I also had a dream of Kleinfelds, but it's just not possible for all of us. I found that researching bridal salons in my state and then picking out the highest rated really helped me. I tried on at least 30 gowns. It's so much fun.

I had a fantastic experience with David's Bridal. However, the service varies from store to store so definitely check reviews on the ones near you! They have lots of pretty dresses that don't cost an arm and a leg

I am also from the Bay Area. I went to David's Bridal in Pinole. There aren't too many stores in the area, but this one wasn't too far from me, as I live in Bay Point. First, I would recommend making an appointment. This store is very busy!! But the consultants there are excellent!! I had a guy named Julian as my consultant. He made me feel so special, and listened to everything I said about what I wanted. It was a really great experience. I know not everyone has had a good experience with DB, but I think a lot has to do with each particular location. The store in Pinole is run very well, and I would definitely recommend it. Good luck!!

I didn’t go here myself, but I’ve heard good things about “Trudy’s” in San Jose.

If you’re on a budget but want a designer dress, you can try Glamour Closet in SF. They have second-hand designer gowns for cheap. You don’t really get the “salon” feel though

I got mine at Starlet Bridal in Santa Rosa- it was fun, easy, and had many dresses to chose from.
