Wedding dress and dieting

Jill, on October 7, 2019 at 4:35 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 13

Im having the hardest time losing weight! Im in my 30's with 3 kids so I know that kind of adds to it, but dang! Ive tried doing low carb and it doesnt work, Im trying slimfast now with added supplements.. I have to get a dress by the latest february 2020. I feel so defeated. To make it worse, I have horrible asthma, in fact I was just at the ER for it. Im put on prednisone for weeks at a time and if you've ever been on steroids like that, you either retain a bunch of water weight, gain weight from eating or both.

So I guess Im looking for diet suggestions or tips and tricks??!!! HELP

Asthma is the worst and prednisone definitely doesn’t help! About four years ago I lost about 130 pounds (and a few more since). I did it (with asthma) but really watching what I ate and exercising. Walking would be great for you and probably help your asthma too! I used the Lose It! App to help me track my calories and made sure to eat out only very minimally. If you drink soda (even diet), cutting it out will be your best friend!

Thats the thing thats sucks, is I cant workout, unless I have a good dose of prednisone in me. I dont drink sodas or juice and I cut my coffee to once a day with splenda instead of sugar. Im getting bloodwork done soon and a physical, maybe I'll ask her to check my thyroid. CONGRATS on losing all that weight!!! Thats amazing!!

I am trying weight watchers. I tried the low carb way but I couldn’t fathom cooking two dinners for me and the kids since they didn’t like all of my “creative” low carb dinners. I like weight watchers because it encourages better choices and makes you aware of what you thought was “healthy” that may not be

I follow THM--trim Healthy mama! It focuses on separating healthy carbs and healthy fats. No sugar/bread. I'm sure there's a much better way to explain it. There's groups for it on Facebook. I've been following this lifestyle for 16 months and I've lost almost 35 lbs, though most of the weight didn't start coming off until I was on plan for more than a year. But everyone is different! My mom does it too and she lost about 45, and super quick.

Give low carb another shot. I’ve tried ever diet out there plus exercise and with cutting carbs out I lost 60+ pounds. The diet sucks but once you detox from the carbs and sugars it’s the easiest thing ever. Most of my meals are salads or protein and a veggie.

Not sure if you have any of these places near you but there's places near me that will make your meals for the week..they are gluten free no sugar and low or no carb and at the right calorie amount for what you need to lose in the time frame that you are given. They work wonders if you can deal with the proper serving size and the cost of the service. I also find just walking everyday really helps as well.

I'm doing keto (low carb) in combination with intermittent fasting on a 16/8 schedule. It means I eat all my meals within an 8-hour timeframe each day, for me 11:30am-7:30pm. It has made the hugest difference for me, and I've been surprised how my body has adjusted to where I really don't feel starving or even hungry at all during the fasting periods. Hope this helps!

Jill! Over stressing about it can affect your progress. I say just do your best everyday. Keep in mind what you’re eating and try to incorporate some exercise everyday. Hope this helps!

Ugh the struggle of weight loss. I am one of those people are always up and down so I completely get it. I found that a boot camp worked great for me but you do need to commit to it. I think if you are able to commit to a boot camp for at least a month or 2 before your wedding you'll see a difference especially with eating right. Good luck!

Try to work intermittent fasting into your schedule. It sounds barbaric in the beginning but when you think about it, it's not too hard. Most people skip breakfast and stop eating around 8pm.
