Wedding colors given postponement

Tori, on March 25, 2020 at 12:17 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 10
We moved our 4.18 wedding to 10.30. We originally were doing light blue bridesmaids, navy groomsmen, and flowers were white and pink with greenery. Since we are now getting married in the fall, I thought about switching some stuff such as napkins to navy and maybe adding some burgundy to our flowers but I wanted some others’ input! We are also now getting married in a different venue that I think actually requires less decor so that’s a bonus. I attached pictures of our bridal party outfits, original florals, and original table idea and our new venue’s reception space! Thanks for the help!!

I think you can keep your colors as is! It doesn’t need to coincide with your season.

I think adding some darker colors fits the season but I don’t believe in matching colors with season so if you wanted to keep your original colors it will still be pretty 😊

I don't think you need to change your colors. I didn't choose based on a season I chose because I loved those colors.

There is no need to match the season in colors. If your wedding will all be done in an indoor place, or outside where fall temperatures will be warm enough for those dress materials, and bare arms and shoulders, fine.
If you want a few pops of darker colors in decorations, like table linens, that usually works best. Remember that your clothes colors need to look good near your linen and decor colors. Nicer pictures. But nobody dresses to match the colors of the furniture and tablecloths, ever, and weddings are no different. And you get nicer pictures as well as a nicer impression when there is contrast. So putting some darker, less summery colors in decorations, may be nice. Like if you use planter barrels of flowers, those you might want to include a little . But don't feel you need to change everything with the season. You do not seem to be having a fall theme of falling leaves, or harvest things, where soft blues are out of place.

I wouldn’t change anything. You don’t have to match the season.

If you like your original colors, keep them! Your new venue is perfect because is pretty open to any color combo, so feel free to start over if you want a new palette or keep your original.

I like your original colors, if you liked those you should keep them, even though it's a new season.

It's not a golden rule to have your colors match the season of your wedding. I think your colors are gorgeous and if it's what you want to stick with, then go for it!

I think the light blue dresses will still look great, but I'd add some burgundy to the florals and maybe some blue thistle as well? I definitely agree with your decisions to change the napkins to navy.

Honestly given the current shake up that everyone’s experiencing, I’d like to introduce a new rule. Or exception rather. This year no ones colors need to coincide with their season. Spring brides and getting married in fall and winter now and it’s madness. Do what you want. It will be lovely no matter what. If you’ve got the time and the flexibility, that’s great. But I wouldn’t dent your pocket book for it. Really the different shades of blue would look good any season in my opinion.
