Wedding barn venues

Jenna, on September 14, 2017 at 8:32 AM Posted in Planning 0 9

Hey all, so I'm looking for my venue! I want it to be a barn yard wedding in westport, Westfield, New Hampshire, Maine or anywhere really in Massachusetts but I'm having a hard time finding a nice place that is within my budget.. I have a budget of 20,000 which includes dress, linens, lighting, food, venue, dj, flowers, photographer, I have a separate amount for decor.. right now I'm looking to have a wedding date of end of August- first weekend in November. I'm flexible, but I can't seem to find anything! If you know of a nice barn that's cheap in mass please let me know!! Thank you in advance!

I don't think you can use the words "cheap" and "Mass" in the same sentence!

Have you checked the vendor tab?

I know here in Maryland the barn venues that we looked at did not do wedding into November. I don't know if you will run into that issue in Maine??

That is going to be tough. No, make that impossible.

For starters, most barn venues rent you just that....a barn venue. You're on your own for everything else (you may know this already). Anyone who has an even vaguely rentable barn is cashing in; human nature, right? And if you're talking November, you're talking heating too. You can't really put propane patio heaters in an barn...well, you can, but it's screaming dangerous. August? Hot as hell.

Most of the barns we recommend are in the **** range for just the empty space. Creating food, drink, tableware, and furniture is notoriously more expensive this way.

Honestly Jenna? I think it's back to the drawing board; the reason you're not finding anything is because the budget isn't going to cover what you want to have.

Hahah true Nonna, and yes I have but they are expensive and do not come with a lot so it will be 10,000 for venue but will not include linens or chairs or food .. other places are 3,000 but do not include liquor or food or linens or chairs or anything which would mean that I need a liquor license and then alcohol which.. his family and my family can drink lol

I would forget the idea of an outdoor wedding north of Pennsylvania after mid-October. Most of those barns are not very well heated. Freeze your ass cheeks off.

Check out the Salem Cross Inn. They have a beautiful barn attached to a historic working farm house that is now a restaurant. It is so beautiful!

ETA: They do food, alcohol, cake, and linens. They are in West Brookfield, MA. They were by far the most affordable venue we looked at. She gave us an estimate including taxes and tips and food, drinks, every expense and we came in under 10,000 for 100 people. We are inviting about 80 people so it will be even less then that.

I’m not sure if you are still looking for a venue but Kitz Farm in Strafford, NH is beautiful. It is 5k for the rental but they provide you with a list of vendors they have worked with. This is where my FH and I are getting married. We have used their recommendations for majority of our vendors thus far and we have managed to find great quality at a lower price. We are trying to stay at a lower budget ourselves while we buy a house in the process of planning a wedding. Smiley smile Let me know, I can always send you the vendor list of suggestions!
