Super August 2018

Website wording

Hi everyone,

Maybe I am overthinking this lol. But I have a section that says
"Parking:
There will be free self parking at both the ceremony and reception locations"

My FH says to also put something like

"But if you want to have the absolute best time, we encourage you to uber or carpool"

I'm afraid people will think - "then pay for our uber" or something. I know uber gives the option of an event but we would have to pay for it and honestly we cannot fit that into our budget.

Would it sound bad to put that on our WW?

No, I think you're good. Is parking limited?

No parking is not limited, but we want to make sure everyone is safe if they decide to drink

I think it's fine if you add that.

I wrote something along the lines of "if you plan on having too much fun, Uber rides are $5-7 between our hotels and the venue"

I think you're overthinking. I would assume there's parking available unless told otherwise, and most adults know to use an Uber or Lyft if they're planning on drinking.

I don't see the need to include this on your site at all.

I'd just skip the UBER / Lyft as everyone knows those options are available..... unless of course your wedding is in a remote location then people could wonder which in that case I'd include it.

I agree with PPs adults should know to not drink and drive, it’s not like you need to preech it on your wedding website.
Original version (yours) is good enough.

I've seen Uber and Lyft offered many times. If you wanted to add it, you would do an uber events and put the code on there for them to use. So its not telling them you are paying for their uber (i wouldn't even think that means you are paying for it). I live in Los Angeles, Uber in an urban city is common so many people add the code, but not necessarily any line like your FH listed. Your line is fine as is.

Let adults be adults. Providing parking info is all that is required.
