Website links to include initially

Anne, on May 16, 2021 at 4:00 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5
I have a few questions here..

Did you include a website link on your save the dates? If so, were there any links that you DID NOT include at first after sending out save the dates? For example, leaving out the accomendations link if you did not set up hotel blocks yet, but eventually put it back up when you sent out your invites. Lastly, did you put a message up such as "hang tight as we are working on the right accommodations for our guests" or leave out the link altogether to avoid confusion

I included my wedding website link. The website then had any hotel info. That's what I've seen from other save the dates I've seen as well.

I think you're over thinking it! It doesn't need to be difficult, and I dont really feel that any particular direction you go with is confusing.

I'm just planning to include the website link. The "travel" page is gonna say something like "accommodations to come at a later date."

Do you have a weddingwire website? If so you can hide the pages you don't want shown to guests but just send them one link. I think this is what you're meaning? I hid the RSVP and accommodations pages until I had hotel blocks figured out and it was time to rsvp. But I didn't need to resend the link to the website since guests already had it.

We put our wedding website url on our save the dates. I had the accommodations page ready to go when we sent them out because I feel like the reason to send save the dates is to make it easier for people to travel, but I did hide some of the other tabs so I wouldn't have to worry about setting up the whole thing that early. Even now (9 months after the wedding, but 2 months before the non-covid reception) I still have some pages hidden.

P.S. we used Kleinfeld Hotel blocks to book our hotel and it made dealing with that (and even rescheduling later) a lot easier, so that's one way to make dealing with the accommodations page easier.
