Hi all,
I’m getting married in about a year from now and I will be wearing my grandmothers / mother’s wedding dress. Any tips for alterations? I want to change a few things to make it look more current. When should I start the process?

for me. You should seek out a seamstress my
Opinion only. Get ideas from the seamstress.

Wow that sounds so sweet. I would talk to a seamstress to get some ideas. If you post a picture on here you might be able to get some good ideas as well. Good luck.

It’s so amazing that you will have the opportunity to wear your grandmother's dress. This will be so special for you and your family!
Your alterations timeline will definitely depend on how much work is needed to get it to the dress you want. The same as the pps, I would recommend having a consultation with your seamstress so that they will be able to tell you how big of a job the alterations will be and also be able to give you an accurate timeline.
What is the dress currently like? What type of change are you hoping to make?
