wearing glasses for engagement photos? photographers welcomed!

soon to be..., on September 30, 2009 at 9:57 PM Posted in Planning 0 5

Hi all- I am debating whether to wear my glasses for the engagement shoot. I normally wear them at work, but not out, since I really only need them for up close reading. Are they more likely to mess up pictures with their glare? Or does it not matter? Just curious: I've heard both ways. My FH will have to wear his since he's blind as a bat without them, so just curious as to what people thought--- thanks!

Do you wear your glasses all the time? Do you have any other photos without your glasses? My FH has to wear them to see clearly so it would be strange to not have them on. He has learned to slightly tilt his glasses downward (by raising them just a little bit above his ear) so the flash does not bounce off them.

I have about 50% of my photos without glasses and about 50% with them over the past years--- I only started wearing them 3 years ago---- thoughts?

Bring them and do some shots with and some without...they're easy to take off for a few shots. It's easy to avoid glare, just a tilt of the head or light, etc...If they are a part of "you" then wear them...if you like the way you look without them then don't. But don't avoid wearing them JUST because you think there will be a glare ruining the pics, a photographer should have no problem getting around it

I much prefer the no-glasses look. Yes, usually dealing with glare can be a huge pain, and the last thing I want to be worrying about during a photoshoot is about glare.

Since you only use them for reading that would be perfect to not have to worry about them. It's best to be able to see the eyes clearly.

I often suggest that my clients bring two sets of glasses to a shoot if they really need them. Have one for seeing, and take the lenses out of their current glasses so that you see the frames, but no glare.
