Wearing glasses at the ceremony?

Hey all, so I wear glasses every day 24/7 (whenever I'm not sleeping obviously) and I can't really see without them and I would like a clear vision of my Husband-to-be when I'm walking down the isle. Is it usual to wear glasses at the ceremony or should I invest in expensive prescription contacts...

Is it usual to wear glasses at the ceremony or should I invest in expensive prescription contacts that I will only wear once and probably only for a few hours? I'm thinking wearing them wouldn't be such a big deal.

You can buy daily contacts which are pretty cheap individually. They usually come in a box of 30 but some optometrists will sell them out of the box so that you don't have to pay for the whole box.

I am wearing contacts, but my fiance is glasses only (see pic) However, he is getting some special anti-glare lenses so we don't end up with the issue of the light glancing off ruining the pictures (once again, see the picture)

I can think of many of my brides who wore their glasses for the whole ceremony, and some who only put them on to read their vows to each other (which was very cute too). If you wear them every day, then wear them for your wedding, but do treat yourself to a pair that go with your dress. I really like that idea; your 'wedding glasses' will always be special to you!

I wear glasses but I can see without mine. Just don't ask me to read anything. I will be going without my glasses for the ceremony and probably will put them on at the reception.

My friend wore glasses for her wedding, and in all her pictures, all you see are the glasses.

I've worn glasses since I was 6 years old. I jumped at the chance to wear contacts. Then they started getting on my nerves, so I got lasik. Its wonderful to wake up and not have to put anything on or in my eyes. Also, consider the glare in pictures you'll get from glasses. It's up to you.

I'm wearing my glasses! I can't see to walk without them (my eyes are so bad that the NHS pays for my eye test and most of my glasses). I'm wearing mine as I hate contacts but need to be able to see.

I may take them off for a few pictures, but honestly my eyes go wonky without them so I usually end up looking a bit crazy (in all my id pictures, I look insane). It's best for me to wear them.

If you want to be comfortable and see, then just wear them.

Contacts would be better. At the very least give a sample pair a try to see if you can wear it. I think it shows your beauty more

Wear them. They're part of your everyday look, and I, at least, wanted to look like 'me' at my wedding. That's woman in glasses is who your SH wants to marry, after all!

I love my contact lenses, but if you decide to wear glasses, go to a good optician who can pick out a frame that suits your face and coatings to minimize glare. I've seen many bridal looks ruined by cheap glasses.

Thank you all for your input. It is interesting to read all the stories and opinions on the subject. I will be wearing my glasses at the ceremony and I will be sure to get ones that don't have a glare and will have my FH do the same, he wears glasses 24/7 as well and has worse eye sight than me.

I'll be wearing mine. I actually bought a new pair that I don't love and I bought a pair without the prescription lenses so I can wear contacts underneath. I have been hiding behind my glasses for over ten years I don't want to feel uncomfortable or ugly on my wedding day. As it is right now I may just wear my old glasses instead of either of my new ones. I have 12 days to figure it out!
