Hi everyone! FH and I are going on vacation to the Bahamas next week and are worried about me wearing my engagement ring. We will be in the ocean, probably going snorkeling and in the pool... I worry about it falling off when in the ocean (it's never fallen off but still...) I hate the idea of not wearing it but looking for some advice. Do you ladies leave your rings at home on vacations or do you wear them?

I plan on wearing mine, and leaving it in the safe in our room if we are swimming or doing anything else that I worry it might get damaged.

We just lock mine up when we travel if we are doing something active.

I think I’ll get a CZ ring for the honeymoon, just in case!

FH and I both got inexpensive rings for when we travel so we don't lose/damage the "real" ones. We will wear these out by the pool and on the beach of our honeymoon and the "real" ones will be locked in the safe.

I don't wear mine in the pool or the ocean, but I would wear it all the other times. That's my plan for our honeymoon, too. Just lock it up in your room or in a safe while in the water and put it back on when you're done; you don't need to wear a fake ring to still be engaged.

When my I went on a cruise earlier this year I just kept all my jewelry in the safe that was in the room! And I only wore my ring when doing a nice dinner or something! I definitely didn’t wanna risk losing it or getting it dirty with sand and chlorine and all that stuff! If there isn’t a safe in your room, I’d personally leave it at home! I kinda wanna get one of those rubber wedding bands for work and vacations and stuff!

I'd never wear my ring in the ocean and don't even like the idea of having it near sand. I've locked it in the safe while on vacation.

You could also get a decoy ring if you still want to wear one. I got this one on Amazon for $20 when I had to send my ring in to be cleaned and repaired. No one could even tell it was CZ.

For our honeymoon, we plan on leaving all rings at home and taking a set of matching Enso bands (silicone) with us. They have ones that look like metal Smiley smile

I've read and been told multiple times never to bring your real e-ring on international trips. However, I totally understand not wanting to part with it for the duration of your trip. If you know there's going to be a safe at the resort you're staying at, than by all means, bring it! I have a Qalo ring that I wear during any outdoor/exercising activities - just because I don't want to damage my actual ring with water or sweat.

I would definitely take it off. My sisters husbands was taken right off his finger in the ocean on their honeymoon, so I'd never take the risk

For us, we each have stainless steel bands that we use for travel and or hiking or exploring outside. We've had them for well over 12 years. They have never faded or bent. I think I paid $20 or so, for both bands.
