Wearing BLACK to weddings

Yay or nay? FH's sister is getting married this weekend. I'm searching for a dress and everything I find that I feel is appropriate is either black or white. I absolutely will not wear white but is it still a bad thing to wear black? My wedding is in 27 days and I'm more concerened with WHAT people...

Black is fine and I mostly wear it to weddings as most of my fav dresses are black. Only time I didn't was because I knew the BMs dresses were going to be black

I've worn black to weddings, and I've seen plenty of other people who have as well. Go for it!

I think it depends on if it's an afternoon or evening wedding.

My biggest colors are black, chocolate and navy or charcoal. That's just what looks good on me.

My mom wore black to my previous marriage, and that's bc it was in her budget, aside from maxi dresses, which aren't goo for her body or age(she tries to dress way too young).

I decide whether or not to wear a black dress based on how short the skirt is. Smiley winking

I think black is just fine, I've worn it, and I've seen other people wear it. I think the "black is for funerals" thing is very outdated. When my grandmother passed away, there weren't many in black. My sisters and I all wore a lot of red, because that was her favorite color, and she'd rather have seen us in red, than black.

Black is fine. it's actually the first thing i think of when told 'cocktail attire.' sometime's i want to wear something brighter, but i'm often afraid of accidentally wearing a similar color to the bridesmaids.

I'm not a fan-- black, to me, is for funerals and mourning, but that's just me, not society in general.

My bridesmaids are wearing black dresses and I am wearing a cute black dress with a brown belt for my rehearsal and dinner the night before! I would add some color to the black dress!

I always wear a black dress to a wedding since it can be dressed up or down.

I had a couple people wear black to my wedding and I thought it was great. I had cocktail attire for my wedding, so black was appropirate.
