We started our family this weekend.

My fiance and I have been arguing for a few weeks about cats. I'm not a cat person, he is. We're both allergic. He kept saying I wouldn't let him get a cat. Even tho I tried to get him to go to the animal shelter a couple weeks ago to look at cats. I was "just teasing him."

Well, my mom and I went wedding shopping an hour and a half away, and walked into Petsmart. They had an adoption event. I sent a pic to fiance, and he said "looks good. Ok."

I feel like one would be lonely. So we had twins!

My allergies aren't terrible yet, so I'm hoping a little medication and adaptation will work. And he's doing fine too.

Guess he didnt realize I was being serious, because he was very surprised I came home with them.
But we are definitely waiting to get a dog til we get back from our honeymoon.

I am excited tho, I have 2 dogs that need to stay with my parents (one is older and adapted to living there) and I was starting to get nervous about not having anything cute to love on.

SO CUTE! Omg, we have a gray/brown tabby and a black cat too!! When I met FH he was “not a cat person.” But my brother volunteers for a cat rescue so we always had foster cats around. FH was SO neutral about all of them hahah. I bonded really strongly with Zelda (one of the fosters) and was already in the process of adopting her, and FH was starting to get used to her but still a little skeptical lol. Then one day he met Puma (another one of the fosters from the rescue) and literally fell in love at first sight. His eyes lit up, he walked over picked him up and was like “I love this cat, I’m keeping him” and so it happened hahaha. Now we have 2! Here’s a pic of my “not a cat person” FH! 😂

Haha! Oh goodness. Many of my friends are on their first or third baby.
We're very strictly having zero human babies. So fuzzy feet for us only... unless we change our mind an adopt.

So cute!!! We have two kitties too, they’re about to be 2 years old. Getting both was the best decision ever. They’re best friends, they play together and cuddle together and it’s just great. I’m obsessed with them haha

Oh my goodness, what cuties!! 🥰 I’ve always grown up with cats and my FH absolutely hated them and was terrified. Well, earlier this year he did a complete 360 and randomly started saying he wanted a kitten and would look them up. I would not believe him. One day (in February), as we were leaving for a trip to Maine, I sent him a picture of an adorable baby kitten that was in Massachusetts (passing on the way up and back home) as a joke thinking he wouldn’t actually go for it. Well, before we could even talk about it and get in the car, he sent a deposit and we picked up this baby fluff on our way home from Maine a few days later. He is the best cat daddy and loves her so much. It is the most amazing thing to watch and the best decision we made. 🥰

Congrats !! They’re purrfect 💕 my FH is allergic to cats as well, but I had mine since a kitten when we moved in together. He takes Allegra for his allergies, but I think he adapted to having her here because now she sleeps on his chest and has basically become “his” cat! He loves her so much, we even rescued another back in October, and he is still doing well with allergies. It helps to vacuum everyday, if you can!

Congratulations! I understand leaving an elderly pet behind- my cat is 22 (maybe 23 now..) and was simply too geriatric to move with me, especially considering he had 2 cats himself at the time.

Your kitties are so cute! We lost one of the 2 aforementioned kitties recently and I keep trying to convince him to get another but he doesn't want to since we also have 2 dogs (that we got together since) lol!

It's awful. But I keep reminding myself that I will still see her at work. (She goes to work with us every day.) And that we get to have slumber parties.
She has apparently nominated herself mother of the kittens and has been keeping them in line all weekend.

That's so cute!! Mother of kittens haha ❤
Totally understandable but of course you know what you are doing is for the better of your pet! Hopefully that thought helps, it is what makes me feel better about having to leave my girl. Plus, you know they are at a wonderful home where they are getting cared for excellently and very loved!
I saw in one of your replies that you said you put a Roomba on your list, I absolutely cannot recommend them enough! If you get one you will not regret it! With four, now down to three, pets and all the hair they produce, those little vacuums are an absolute godsend!

Congratulations!!! Your allergies will hopefully adjust! I’m very allergic to cats and we have two. I’ve become “immune” to mine unless I already have a cold, we haven’t vacuumed in a while, or my seasonal allergies are in full swing. Other than that’s cats don’t bother me. BUT if I go anywhere else with cats they still flare up. so just immune to mine I guess 😂

congratulations and enjoy the fur babies!
