We Postponed the postponement

Sexypoodle, on July 14, 2020 at 10:31 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 16

Our initial wedding date was 10/10/20.... and then covid! So, we spoke with our vendors and selected 10/2/21 instead. But as weeks went by, we agreed that the date was just too close to FH’s birthday after all (which is 9/29). Soooo.... yesterday we moved the date again and made the final decision of 10/30/21. Looking back, I’m not sure why we hadn’t considered that date first because it’s perfect. Not that we’re Halloween fans at all, but simply because FH and I host at least 3 big parties each year (usually with a theme). So the new date gives us a reason to have fun anniversary parties too. I kinda feel guilty saying this but... I think I’m more excited about our new postponed 2021 date than I was about the original 2020 wedding date. 😆

Thank God for our flexible, understanding and (luckily) available vendors. Now I can officially order our “change the date” cards.

Glad you were able to move everything and are excited again! Covid has created so much stress! My FH’s birthday is also right around our wedding, 9/1 and we’re getting married 9/12. My moms wedding is also 9/5. September is going to be a busy month!

Congratulations! Glad it all worked out for you. I have always believed in choosing a date versus choosing the venue who may have a date available that works.

Our date (former wedding twin of yours) 10/10/20 is a significant date and we always knew our date and then the perfect venue matched with our available date. Smiley smile

Thanks! I’m looking forward to our new date and it has added some joy amidst all of the Covid craziness. Are you moving forward with 10/10/20?

I’m very happy that we have solidified the new date! I’ll be thinking about all of you 10/10/20 brides in a few months. It’s crazy that it’s almost here!

Congrats! I am also more excited about our new date. It’s Feb 6, 2021. I’m from New Orleans and I’m a huge Mardi Gras fan. Feb 6 will always be during the “Carnival season”. Plus our anniversary will fall on a few future Mardi Gras dates. There are some silver linings to a new date!

Oh yes... that’s going to be lots of fun and celebrating!! Since many of us have had to postpone and deal with Covid during our wedding planning, we may as well make the best of our new dates and have fun with it. Congrats!

So glad you're excited about your new date! Sometimes it's hard when plans have to change, especially when it comes to a wedding. Seeing the positive and being more excited about the postponement is good.

Thank you! It’s a good feeling being excited and not having the “what if” worries. Although things suck right now with the pandemic, I can’t get too upset about something that’s so greatly out of my control. However, changing the date was one thing that was in my control. So I’m glad it worked out!

    I agree, it’s crazy.

Our MD gave us a positive outlook today basically said with the increase now it will go back to (new) normal in about 6-8 weeks and we should have no issues with having an outdoor wedding.
