We made the heartbreaking decision

Lindsay, on April 11, 2020 at 7:56 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 7
We did it we finally came to terms and made peace with knowing this summer just isn’t going to happen. We decided we will still honor our date of July 17 in a small ceremony with close friends and family and officially get married and then move our reception and have a vow renewal ceremony next July with our friends and family. We don’t want to lose the money we already put into it since we won’t get a refund and we want everyone to feel comfortable. We don’t want a wedding where people will be afraid to hug us it’s not worth it so we decided it’s just best to move the big reception to next year around our date or hopefully on the same day and now we can have all our pre wedding celebrations as well next year. Best of luck to everyone else whose still deciding to make a decision trust me it wasn’t easy. I had a good cry but I had to come to terms with it and finally make peace and once you finally do that you will feel so much better.

Awe! I’m sure it was a hard choice! Our wedding was supposed to be next Saturday and we pushed it back until August 30th. We of course still are unsure on how that will play out, but regardless we will have something at that point.

Best of luck! It’s very heartbreaking but we’re trying to look at the positive side of things.

It's very upsetting. I am sorry. We had to cancel our April 4th, 2020 wedding and are pushing for a more intimate wedding later on (late Summer, early Fall) with a vow renewal in a year or two. I cried for a long time on April 4th to the point of feeling physically ill. But, I've sort of have accepted it and I am looking for a more intimate wedding. I am so over this big wedding thing now. Just completely not interested at all, but that's just me. We were planning for 2 years and then right when our wedding was supposed to be, this pandemic swept in and completely knocked the walls over on our wedding plans. So you can imagine why we are so turned off from this big wedding thing...... everything will get better for all of us in due timeSmiley heart

I don’t blame you at all! I actually realized now that realistically with all my bills piling up that I cannot manage all this again next year so now I need another back up plan ugh!

    Hi Lindsay,

I'm so sorry you had to change your plans, but I'm so glad you've locked down a new date!! BOpClAR83wqJF1bFtFERgypV_BICZsbBvwcIMhTa

Stay positive and hang in there!! You've bought yourself a lot more time and hopefully more peace of mind!
