"We flipped the date" Postponement Wording

Emly, on April 1, 2020 at 11:11 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 6

Just preparing for the worst here! With our wedding date being 6/6/2020 we are preparing to post pone the wedding, but holding off until may 1st to make any official decisions. FH and I have talked and regardless of the state of the world we will be getting married on June 6th and just have a reception later. I got this idea of how cool it would be to have the reception on 9/9/2020 as a bit of a joke in saying "since our wedding plans got flipped up side down so did our date" the only problem is 9/9 is a Wednesday.. bummer haha! the date 9/19 is a Saturday though, Do you think this saying or would still work or not? Any other suggestions?

Also just want to mention I'm not in anyway trying to make fun of the pandemic but rather turn our mindset of the situation into somewhat of a positive one. My heart goes out to all of you who are effected.. Never in my wildest could I even fathom any of this happening.

Thats a cute saying. I agree you could still use the saying even tho its 9/19. On my new invites Im saying “Recent events have been very upsetting, because of this we postponed our wedding. Let’s try again, please save our new date. We kindly ask you to come celebrate”

We are in Minnesota, things aren't as bad here as other states but I feel like our Governor will be extending our stay at home order if things don't seem to be getting better within the next few weeks. We also just found out that FH's uncle just tested positive for CVOID so that may be affecting our plans even more depending on how that plays out.
