We booked our honeymoon!! Yayyyyy!!!!

Niiiice! Congratulations! We did a five day cruise to the Bahamas in December of 2017 for my 30th birthday. It was very fun! What cruise line are you going with? What are your ports of call in the Bahamas?

We are going on Carnival from Jacksonville FL. We'll stop in Nassau and Half Moon Cay. We are gonna ride horses in Half Moon Cay for our first excursion, but we are still looking for something to do in Nassau. I've never been there and there are so many good options.

For Nassau, we just walked over to Junkanoo Beach straight from the ship and stayed there all day. It’s not a very far walk and it was beautiful! You don’t have to spend money on an excursion that way. I would recommend bringing goggles and a snorkel. The water was so beautiful and it was cool to see all of the fish with the goggles on. 🥰🐠

That's what we did when we went to Cozumel and it was wonderful and relaxing. Thanks for the recommendation for the beach, that sounds exactly like what we need to do. Maybe have a few drinks on the beach, snorkel around for a bit and just have a chill day

Sounds awesome! I bet it feels great to have that part of the planning done with. I have no idea where to begin with honeymoon planning but we better get to it because we’re 13 months out from the wedding 🙈

Congratulations! We are going to Hawaii for one week, but we looked at the Bahamas too! I hope that is a future trip for us. A cruise will be super fun!

Congratulations! That's so exciting. FH and I also booked a 6 night 7 day cruise for our honeymoon and have the exact plans to go to Hawaii for our first year anniversary. Which cruise line did you guys decide on?

View Quoted Comment So I wanted to take a 13-day cruise on Norwegian, the ocean view rooms are only $949 per person right now. That one is going to the Eastern Caribbean which is totally on my bucket list. But because of financial reasons we decided to go a cheaper route and chose a 5-day cruise with Carnival. I know it's going to be awesome because we'll be going to the Bahamas for the first time AND it'll be our honeymoon!!
So in a way..we are honeymoon twins...lol 😄

Cruises are the best!! Congratulations and have fun!! We have been to the Bahamas many times and I highly suggest doing any excursion that includes a private beach and avoiding Atlantis in Nassau. It's overpriced, not enough time and over crowded. The private islands are our favorite days!! We only cruise with Royal Caribbean but we LOVE their private island and I'm sure Carnival's is just as awesome.

I have heard alot of the same about the Atlantis in Nassau excursion. Don't think we will be doing that one, but thank you for the idea of the private islands, we will definitely look into that. Neither of us have even been on Royal Caribbean, but they look so beautiful. I hope to one day get to cruise with all the different cruise lines to see what we like the best. I have always been a sucker for a sale and I think Carnival has been the cheapest for us so far

If you want to splurge for an excursion on the private island, see if they have private cabanas or a private beach experience. I know RCCL has a private cabana option, it's a little pricey but looks amazing and has gotten many reviews. They are actually renovating their entire private island and will have bungalows soon too. I'm sure they have something similar with Carnival. We sailed Carnival when I was growing up and always had a great time. We sail RCCL now because we have status and want to keep building on that status to gain more perks. After all, we are all loyal for the benefit of status, idk what I would do without priority check-in, private lounge or concierge service anymore It has literally taken me 10 years of cruising to get to this status and we are a good 10-15 years from the next big jump....but we will make it!! lol

I think that is a brilliant idea. you'll still get the same type of vibe in terms of it feeling like a paradise since i am sure the bahamas are beautiful beaches too. i have been to hawaii on a week long trip and trust me, it has been to date my most expensive trip i've taken and i've been to many places in the world. hawaii is worth it though, it's paradise. but it definitely is not a cheap place.
