We are expecting 30-40 people. Is our venue too big?

We are very early in the planning process but we have fallen in love with this venue. It can seat 300. Is it too big? Any suggestions to accommodate this? Thanks in advance!

I think one single long table down the middle of the room would help make the venue feel more intimate with the smaller guest list!

I don't think so! The last row of seats is VERY far back from the alter in the pictures, so guests will have the ability to see & hear everything since they will be much closer.

I agree with the FutureMrsD above. That is a lot of rows in that picture. You will likely have 4-5 rows and you wont need a microphone to be heard.

So beautiful! I don’t think is too big, it really has potential. You can space out the seating more for more room and I’ll do 4 or 5 per row on each side to keep the room more concentrated in the middle. You can also play around with doing those different seating aisle since you’ll have room to experiment.

Good to hear! I was also thinking in terms of the reception since we are having it there too. Any tips on seating? We are thinking tables of 6, along with a kid’s tables, spreading the tables out and putting the dance floor in the middle.

Actually I think it'll be super convienant to have the room to do the ceremony and reception without needing so much shuffling around! You can do a bunch of smaller tables on the end where this photo was taken and do the dance floor in front of those steps.

I went to a wedding where there was a lot of additional space and they just decided to have a few games like giant jenga in each corner and a photo booth. I think it was an amazing idea and everyone had so much fun.

Personally I remove the majority of chairs since it’s a beautiful venue

That sounds great! I always like tables surrounding the dance floor. We personally didn't do a kids table, I knew they were more likely to be comfortable and behave if they sat by their parents (I know, depends on the kids). We had 125 guests and did farmhouse style tables (so 3 long tables). Our dance floor was on one end, there wasn't another option or way to do it, so I do feel like the ones at the far end didn't get to see as much. Then vice versa for speeches since they were at the other end.

It would give you more room for games, tables with food /treats, or other activities/ stuff!

PPs have given great advice! Just wanted to chime in to say more space is always better than too little!
