Wax seals

Hey, has anyone wax sealed their invitations ? How did it go for you If you did? I’m thinking of doing it but when looking on line about mailing difficulties I’m second guessing it.

I haven't used wax seals, but I have heard from people that when the mail goes through the machine, it can crack/break the seals. If you could ensure that they're hand sorted that might work better.

I’m doing a wax seal (my stamp just came yesterday and I’m super excited).

I’ve done wax seals in the past on letters and such and I haven’t had an issue. But for wedding invitations it’s generally advised to only do the wax seal on the inner envelope (in your doing one) because it’s less likely to get damanged in the sorting machines.

Im also using hot glue gun wax which is a little more flexible than typical seal wax so I’m hoping that hold us in the mail better, I’ve never used it before so we’ll see 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yes I I did it on the outer envelope and didn’t have any issues. I ordered the wax pieces to melt from eBay because they had the most color sections and it was wonderful. I just used a candle and a spoon to melt them. 3 pieces worked well for one seal. Also I ordered my seals (I ordered 3 to see which I liked best) from eBay overseas. They were super cheap and easy to use. I had never used a wax seal prior to purchasing one for the wedding. I have gotten lots of compliments on it and haven’t heard of anyone’s being damaged

I did wax seals on my save the dates, and they came out awesome! I had many people saying they liked them. One got returned to us for an incorrect address and that one was a little damaged. I have seen some of them after they got to the guests and most were in great shape still.

I did wax seals for our wedding invites and they came out so awesome. I went to the post office and stamped all of them with their wedding stamps and had them hand cancelled. This way they don't go through the machine.

All of the invites came perfectly intact.
