Wax seals and the post office?

Did any of you use wax seals on your outer envelopes? If so, did you have any trouble with mailing? I'm planning to hand cancel/get the hand cancel stamps, but I have heard the process can vary greatly between different post offices, so it's a bit of a gamble. I am only doing outer envelopes, and I know they're pointless but I just love wax stamps, but I'm worried about the invitations getting chewed up in the machines (the invitations are also thicker than standard).

@anvenrtte-Yes. Everything I’ve heard and researched says that’s the best way to do it/best chances. I ultimately didn’t do wax seals since I didn’t have an inner envelope, my invites went out late, and I just didn’t want to chance it, but I had a friend who did wax seals on the inner envelope and she had no problems. Good luck!

I was also thinking of doing this. I thought about putting them on an one and inserting that in to another that would protect it as it went trough the mail. But I think I may use them in a different way instead after reading this :/

My SIL did this and it was atleast twice as much for the postage and you have to seal them another way because the wax wont stick. Looks cool in theory but I wouldn’t recommend it. I’d do a wax seal on the party favors instead.

I am handmaking all of my guest books and I think I will use my stamp on the outside of that for decoration.

Im really upset about this as I bought a personalized stamp but my postal carrier told me no. I am going to use them on the favor boxes though.
