Water bottles

Sammie, on May 29, 2016 at 3:57 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 20

It's supposed to be a very hot day the day of our wedding. We're wanting to have barrels of water bottles all over our venue. What would be the best way to do this, and to also let our guests know that the water is available to them?

I would just put tubs at the entrances with ice and bottles in them

At the ceremony or reception? Will there not be bottled water available at the bar?

We were just at Sam's club and they had a cute little tub for drinks for about $20. We want to buy the smaller bottles and just have them out for guests at the entrance of the venue

    Your bartender should cover that.

I had an evening wedding in August and we put out the little bottles of water in metal tubs of ice. My parents bought the water bottles and my caterer handled setting it up in our ceremony location.

Is water the only beverage you'll be offering?

I am not having a bar but my caterer will be covering beverages no alcohol at the moment. Still coming up with ideas for serving alcohol as it is not covered in my package and to pay for a bar separate is not in my budget.

You should put a bar in your budget - it's better to properly host a few people than not host lots of people.

Sammie. Your not having a bar at all or during the ceremony? You should host a reception if you are having a wedding with a guest list....

Water is usually covered by bar or caterer. Ours had decanters of water on each table and a few set on the table along with coffee. Guests could fill as needed. Soda, beer, wine and mixed drinks were available at the open bar

The bar thing threw me off. I like the water bottle idea with certain theme weddings... like outdoorsy rustic or barns. A friend of mine had an outdoor tent wedding in the woods with a Hawaiian theme. She had giant beautiful wooden boxes built over a bunch of kegs placed in ice buckets. The spout for the keg was sticking out of a hole on the top of the box. On a table next to it she had huge containers of premade rum punch. It was basically a self service bar (like a buffet lol) and went over very well.... if youre looking for ideas...

You can get custom labels for the bottle with your names and wedding date. I think that could be cute. Also, make sure to have a bar area for the reception and when people cool down.

Uhh you better have a bar @rashane as you will probably legally have to have a bartender

I'm unfamiliar with your area. How hot does it get? What's the expected temp?
