Walking down

I was talking wedding plans to my mom and I said that my little brother will usher her down the aisle. She asks me why she’s not walking down the aisle with me? Is this a new thing? Are you having both parents? I’ve never been to a wedding or ever seen both dad and mom walk the bride down.

My dad walked me down the aisle 24 years ago. I’m walking down with my hubby this time.

    your wedding, your way.

My dad passed away 20 years ago, my grandpa passed away 2.5 years ago, my stepdad passed away almost 10 months ago. So, because the one guy that could have walked me down (my uncle) is the best man in our wedding, my mom is walking me down.

I'm having both moms walk together. FH's father died a long time ago and I don't want his mom walking alone. So this solves my problem rather neatly.
