Walking down the isle

Renee, on August 27, 2019 at 6:35 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 10

So I know this subject gets posted a lot but I want some opinions on the specific songs I want to use. We're doing a fairytale wedding theme and using Disney songs for the ceremony. I wanna use "You'll be in my Heart" by Phil Collins for the wedding party-moms included. I love the lyrics and think it's sweet. I can picture everyone in my head, smiling and looking beautiful, as they walk down the isle. For myself, I want to do "Tale as Old as Time". My question is would it sound weird if I go from a more upbeat song to a slow one? Or would that kinda clash?

Also, any ideas for the processional? I'm still stuck on that

TIA Smiley smile

I dont think it will be weird if you use those two songs. I'm a huge Disney fan and I love the idea. If you're using a DJ they should be able to fade the songs in and out so they blend nicely rather than just stopping and starting the next one. I dont really understand your next question though about the processional? Did you want more advice on it or advice on another aspect of it? Because you said the moms and bridal party are going down to one song and you to another, that's basically the processional in a nut shell haha.

Omg I meant recessional lol long night at work. I never thought about talking to the DJ, I was just thinking about switching from one song to the next. Thank you ☺

Personally I think it would work well, your DJ should be able to make it sound seemless. As for the recessional, what about A Whole New World or I See The Light? For a giggle you could go with Hakuna Matata or Be Our Guest.

You could do "Can you Feel the Love Tonight" from the Lion King as the recessional. Or maybe "I See the Light" from Tangled or "Love is an Open Door" from Frozen.

Have you heard "I See the Light" from Tangled?

It has a sweeping sound that I think would work really well for a bridal entrance. You can probably have "Waiting for the Lights" which is an instrumental piece playing while the wedding party enters.

Hakuna Matata would be such a fun recessional song!
