Walking down the aisle

Unless they are also part of the wedding party, for example groomsman, junior groomsman or ring bearer, depending on age and role, there is no official term for the person walking you down the aisle this other than “nephew.” Traditionally it would be someone older and in the parent or parent substitute role so there really is no term or precedent.

They are called escorts
