Walking Down the Aisle

Summervibes, on May 21, 2019 at 8:46 PM Posted in Planning 0 9
What is everyone doing for the following:
Walking Down the Aisle-
Groom:
Bridesmaids:
Groomsmen:
Bride:

We are thinking Bridesmaids and Groomsmen will walk together.

I will walk with my dad.

Just figuring out who FH should walk down the aisle with.

Thanks!

Well I think it’s just a personal preference. I’m doing
    groom with his mom first
then my mom with my grandpa
    groomsmen with bridesmaid
    my dad and I

Our grandparents were escorted in by ushers (brothers and a cousin), then my husband was escorted in by his mom and dad. Then the groomsmen/bridesmaids together. Then my dad and I.

For our wedding we are doing the following:

Officiant and groom will be at the front already. There are doors directly behind the "alter" that they are going to walk through

Moms will walk down the aisle together (they hate this, but my fiance won't budge)

Guys are escorting the ladies (we have 1 bridesman and 1 groomswoman and we thought it would look weird for the bridesman to walk by himself down the aisle which is why were are having the guys escort the ladies)

We have two flowers girls that will walk down together

Ring Bearer (he is only 3 so if he needs assistance his older brother will walk down with him)

My dad is escorting me (this might have to change because my dad is sick Smiley sad if so then both my parents will walk with me and we will have to change who my fiance's mother walks with)

Just because this is what we did doesn't mean you have to. I know at a lot of weddings the groom will escort his mother down the aisle which is what I wanted my fiance to do, but he refused because he is difficult.

Ours is less traditional, but this is what we're thinking of:

    Officiant
    (Pause for opening remarks-silence phones)
    Groomsmen
    Groom
    Bridesmaids
    MOHs
    Flower Girls
    Bride & Grandfather

We're not doing parent walks because my FFIL is the officiant, my mom is my matron of honor, and my stepdad is the best man.

The officiant was in place and the groomsmen went in.

My dad escorted my stepmother in. My father in law came in with my mother in law. My husband escorted my mom in and then took his place.

The bridesmaids processed, followed by the flower girl, followed by me and my dad :-)

We are doing it a little different than most! My brother who is our officiant will already be up there as he has to make announcements and tell everyone to put phones away and all that. It will start with bridesmaid and alternate between them and groomsmen so one after the other alternating. Then after them it will be my FH with his mom and dad down the isle. After that it will be ring bearer and flower girl. Then after them it will be my turn to come down. I am walking down an outdoor staircase on my own and will meet my other brother at the bottom (let’s hope I don’t fall 😂 I’m going barefoot so that should help lol) and then he will walk me the rest of the isle way.
