Walking Down the Aisle Timing

Mrs._S, on March 27, 2018 at 4:46 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 6

Hey WW people! I am hoping my church will allow a song to be played when my bridal party walks down the aisle. I found out recently we do no write our own vows *total bummer* but the meaning of the one in the church is nice too.

I love the song "When I Say I Do" By Matthew (something) it is beautiful and just over 4.5mins. I have 6 couples walking in for the bridal party, three juniors, flowergirl and ringboy. Before the party enters it will be the parents and grandparents. Will I have enough time on the song?

4 1/2 minutes is a long time. I'm sure that's plenty. If not, you can always play a different song or just an instrumental while the parents and grandparents enter and start the song for the bridal party.

BTW, most couples don't write their own vows. What they write is something to say to each other which you should be able to do.

You'll definitely have enough time for everyone to walk in!

Do you have ceremony musicians who will need to learn the song, or is there audio set up so you can just play it?

OP - check with your church to see if they allow secular music to be played or not. If allowed, the song you chose will be plenty long enough.

Here’s what I did. I listened to the song we have over and over again and tried to pin moments (minutes: seconds) that my party will walk down. I gave each person 20-30 seconds to walk down the isle. Then we went to visit (FHs family church) and I Just timed it with my FH and I taking turns- I would walk down and then while he walked down I walked back up and walked down as if I was the “next in line”. And it worked out.

It's a song, no musicians. So im hoping the timing is okay.

That's perfect! That way you know exactly how long the song will play for and can practice your timing accordingly!
