Walking down the aisle songs

Nicole, on May 9, 2017 at 10:32 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 24

The songs that you are using for the bridal party and yourself to walk down the aisle, are you using just instrumental songs? Or songs with the words?

With words. The words are why the song is so special to me.

We used G major (Yo Yo Ma) for the families/bridal party, then "You Look Wonderful Tonight" by the Vitamin String Quartet for my walk.

We are doing instrumental, but I've also heard words sound nice. Do whatever you and your future hubby personally prefer!

I literally just decided on the song I'm walking down the aisle to: Halo (originally by Beyoncé) but the Classical Cover by Aston. It's all instrumental and so beautiful!

Instrumental. It just flowed better with our theme.

Our wedding party walked to "A Thousand Years" and I walked "Love Story" by the Vitamin String Quartet. Our recession song was "You Make My Dreams Come True" by Hall & Oates

It's a personal preference. I have seen both done at weddings and prefer instrumental so that's what I'm doing.

I am going to have the bridal party walk down the aisle to the Jurassic Park song and I am doing Can't Help Falling in Love With You. Both are instrumentals by the Piano Guys.

We used the originals with words for all our ceremony music except the song I walked down the aisle to. I walked down to the Piano Guys version of "Can't Help Falling in Love." The rest of it, I was just too attached to the feel of the original songs. Parents and grandparents walked out to Nat King Cole's "L-O-V-E"; DH and his GM, the BMs, and our FG and RB walked out to Ben E. King's "Stand By Me"; we used Stevie Wonder's "Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I'm Yours" for the recessional.

I have never been to a wedding that used songs with singing for the processional.

I plan to have Vivaldi's "Winter" played on the harp for the bridesmaids and then the "Prince of Denmark's March" on the organ when I walk down.

Most of my people use instrumentals, but I had one bride use Marry You by Eric Clapton and BB King last week and it was amazing; upbeat, rock-y, perfect for them.
