Walking down the aisle: Processional songs

Jessica, on April 10, 2019 at 10:37 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 10
Curious as to if you are walking down the aisle to the traditional wedding tune or to a song with lyrics? I really like the idea of the processional being performed with lyrical music, however, I wanted to get an idea in my head of how it would look and I can't find ANY online that actually look good. I actually couldn't find many at all. Well, I take that back, I found some that looked good but the bride herself was singing to her groom as she walked down the aisle... And, let's just say I'm not a singer.
If anyone finds any videos of such please leave the link below!

I wish I had videos for you! My bridal party processional, bride processional, and recessional will all be songs with lyrics. I went back and forth a lot on the decision, but music is so important to me and I just find the instrumental versions to be less powerful.

Someone suggested to me that the wedding scene in Crazy Rich Asians has lyrics as she walks down the aisle because I had a similar question and I watched and it was BEAUTIFUL!

It sure does! I just watched this the other day lol. Awesome wedding scene!

I had lyrics playing in my processional song and I definitely didn’t sing lol. I unfortunately don’t have a video yet but hopefully I will soon

I'll be doing classical, but it won't be the wedding march.

I used a song with lyrics. Sleeping At Last's cover of "Every Little Thing She Does is Magic."

This is the same reason I want to use a lyrical version. I actually discussed it with my FH aand we agreed together. He lives the idea because he is a HUGE music buff of all genres and generations. We are supposed to be picking out the song I walk down in together, but I want to surprise him and walk to 'Because you loved me' by Celine Dion. That will be the next best thing to getting to write my own vows... and it has made me think of him since the beginning of our relationship.

I have a love hate relationship with walking down the aisle with lyrics. I had a hard time mostly because lyrics somehow always had something that makes the “romantic feel” off. I walked down to a thousand years from now the piano guys version. Is a beautiful song.

We are doing all lyrical songs for our entire ceremony: procession (3 songs), unity ceremony, and recession.
