Walking down the aisle - lyrics or instrumental?

Brittany, on August 29, 2019 at 1:09 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 12

Hello! I am having so much trouble figuring out what to walk down the aisle to! I'm pretty certain it will be a more modern song, but I can't decide whether to use and instrumental piano/violin version or the actual song with the lyrics. What are you all doing?

I used the song with lyrics because I liked the lyrics aha. But I guess it all depends on the song too. Instrumental versions are always going to sound very pretty.n

I like instrumentals for the professional, but it’s all personal preference

We are using instruments for the procession, a friend of ours is playing acoustic guitar. The biggest challenge that I had was finding 3x very different guitar melodies.

My processional song for everyone to walk to is Me and You by Kenny Chesney. I am having the lyrics played.

I'm doing instrumental. I don't like lyrics for walking down the aisle because I think they're distracting

I am walking to a song with lyrics but because of my FW's song choice she is considering an instrumental. It really depends on if the words have extra special meaning for you or not. There is always the option of an acoustic cover if you feel the sound of the original isn't quite right.

We played instrumental violin/piano covers of popular songs for the 30ish minutes while guests were being seated, and then all of the processional music had lyrics. I had 2 songs that played while our family and bridal party walked in, and then 1 song for me.

I used the version with the lyrics - but it was Israel Kamakawiwoʻole's version of "Over the Rainbow," so it might have been odd without.

I chose to walk down the aisle to an acoustic instrumental version of my song. I chose this because the original song was too fast to walk down to. It depends on your wedding flow and how you want the song to sound
