Waiting to hear back from venue

Mrs C to be, on April 13, 2016 at 9:59 AM Posted in Planning 0 20

We told the venue last week that we want to book it! I was so excited but I've been waiting a week now for her to get back to us with the paperwork. I've emailed once again about it but no answer. How long should the paperwork take and when should I contact them again? I'm tired of waiting and checking emails and I just want it booked already!!! But I don't want to be too annoying

That's totally frustrating... Hopefully they aren't like this for the remainder of the time in regards to your wedding planning. That could be a bad sign of lack of communication.

I would call. Venues gets loads of emails everyday from brides, vendors, and solicitors. It could have gotten lost or pushed aside depending on the day you emailed. Also it could have gone to spam.

Call. Everyone relies too much on emails and texts and they do get lost.

I would call them. I signed my contract the day i looked at my venue and they gave me a copy and also mailed one to me a week later. You better hurry up because you don't technically have the date until the deposit is down. I booked my July 2017 wedding October 2015!

I would definitely call. I love email/text, because I am antisocial. But, sadly, a phone call is one of the quickest ways to get results.

Just call them. My venue took a couple days to get back with me but they gave me a heads up that they were putting the paperwork together.

I would call. We told our venue we wanted to book and they had the contract ready that day. Maybe the person you are emailing is away/vacation/not there any more? Definitely pick up the phone so your date doesn't get booked by someone else.

She knows we want that date. I heard from her 4/6 saying she would start the paperwork. It's been a week now. I guess I'll have to call

Sometimes they get swamped with things, but I agree calling is always the best if you are not getting a reply to email.

A week is long enough to wait - definitely call and set a day to come in and sign the contract. Also make sure they have you pencilled in for that day and are 'holding' it for you.

I would definitely call. I had a hard time getting a hold of our reception vendor and it turns out I had an old email of theirs, not their updated one!

Once I got a hold of her on the phone I was able to go down and sign the next day.

I have had this happen with vendors too where they get busy and do not return your e-mail. Calling gets a more immediate response as you are right there talking to them. Even if you have to leave a voicemail, it jars their memory that, "Oh yeah, I better get back to them!"
