Vows are just promises that you are making to each other. So all you really need to do is think about what you want to promise to your spouse when you marry them. (To be faithful? supportive of their dreams? a forever teammate?… whatever fits in your relationship)

I do think that sometimes having a deadline helps! Just write out what you love most about your husband and what you want to promise as dot points, and begin to form your vows around them from there!

Look at other vows to get a idea. It will come to you. Just think of what you love about your future husband and what you want to promise him. Fond memories etc.

I just got married this weekend and my husband's cousin officiated us. We sent her our vows so that she can read them while she does her thing. Ours was more funny than it was serious because that's just who we are. We do have our moments where we are lovey dovey, but about 90% we incorporated something funny. For example, "Aside from wifely duties such as cooking, and cleaning.. Heather promises to always go with you to Lowes even though you have no plans to buy anything, even if it means being there for an hour. She will support every random project you want to start, as long as she gets coffee first. I will happily give you a 3rd child if you change your mind on wanting one, and even if you don't. Most importantly, I promise to always love you more."
My husband LOVES taking trips to Lowes, and working on house projects. I joke around about wanting 3 kids because he just wants 2. I have an addiction to coffee lol. And I always tell him "I love you more than you love me." So, I incorporated stuff about us. So, just write what comes to mind and let it flow for a rough draft. You'll add and eliminate things and finally know what to put together by seeing it on paper Smiley smile

I wrote mine the night before or the day of the wedding I think because nothing would come out before then. We had some fun with talking about the sports we watched together but then the serious stuff too. It came out when it needed to Smiley smile I'm sure yours will too.

A good way to outline them is this

    1) how you felt when you met them

    2) how your feelings have grown throughout your relationship/what you love about them

    3) promises

    4) Proclamation of love e.g. "I love you" to close them out

Vows only need to be around a minute, and remember to make them personal. Incorporate funny things and inside jokes. For example, my husband is a total nerd and jumps from hobby to hobby, so in my vows i say "I promise to listen to you explain every new board game and hobby you decide to try" and other funny little things that will stick with us and our family and friends. Try to steer away from cliche's and dont copy any from pinterest lol, everyone else has already used them. You could also ask your officiant for help, they may have some samples or can guide an outline.

Vows are promises to each other. Do a search online and see what you connect with.
