Vow Renewal Rundown

Vow Renewal Rundown 1

Are there any vow renewal brides around here!? My husband and I are renewing our vows 4/2021. He is much more present this time around than our first micro-wedding planning. With that being said, he wants it to be everything we couldn’t do the first time around. My question is... how extravagant are you guys planning? Bridesmaids? Groomsmen? Because I’m all for getting everything we want, but I’m so over the large bridal parties. I’ll take my two sisters and call it a day. 🤷🏾‍♀️

We are doing our renewal on our 5th marriage anniversary. I personally think that if you want the full enchilada, you should go for it. You will need to probably revise wording and purpose of a shower and bachelorette party but I think you could still have that and the bridal party. I would think people might see having a shower is sort of gift grabbing - as you have been married so you don't need help setting up your home - but maybe someone will throw you a tea party with optional gifts or different type of gifts (spa gift certificates, experiences, etc). I won't be doing that. I will however do an all girl weekend getaway in lieu of a bachelorette party.

I totally agree! We won’t be doing any pre-wedding parties and on the invitation and wedding app, guests will be advised that a wedding gift is not requested or necessary. However, we plan on taking a trip following the celebration and if they are adamant about giving a gift then it can be given to that cause.

We're renewing our vows on our 10th anniversary in July. We are doing the whole thing because we weren't able to the first time around. We're not doing a shower, but my girls are planning a weekend getaway for us and our boys are doing one for him. We're also telling guests that no gifts are necessary, we really don't need or want anything beyond them coming to celebrate with us. We're also taking the "honeymoon" that we never had, I'm planning the first week, he's planning the second. Our children and grandbabies are our "wedding party", and they are just as excited as we are!

I'm planning to take gonn to Disney world. He's a huge star wars fan, and I love avatar, so we're spending a week there. I have no ideas what he's planning but I have a feeling it has something to do with Vegas lol.

We're using, "Loved you then, love you still. Always have, always will." I'm not crazy about the "we still do" so I thought it was perfect.

We’re renewing our vows at our 15th in March 2021! No bridesmaids or groomsmen my sons will walk me down the aisle. We’re doing a DW in Cancun so it’s pretty much a full wedding again. DH is very much involved this go round but in a good don’t let me go overboard way 😉

My husband and I are doing our vow renewal with all the bells and whistles April 10, 2021!! We are very excited about this. We we're very young when we got married and missed out on the full experience of the wedding planning, wedding party etc. We have gone through so much and to finally after ten years decide to do this is just a blessing and exciting. I get teary eyed when I think about it. We kept putting this off, we wanted to do it at 5 years, then we pushed it to 10 but now we just decided anytime would be great! We are having a "wedding party" and I chose to walk down the aisle solo (as I am already married and do not need to be given away). We are having a joint cookout celebration without the term "bridal shower" where we will play funny games and relax before the day comes and I am having a girl's night out with my ladies and he will be having a guys night out with his guys. So technically we are having the opportunity to do it all as if it was the first go round. Our families have been pressuring us over the years to do this as they felt we deserve to celebrate our union and our love for all to see and they are quite aware ofhiw we have hit hard times (on the verge of divorce in 2017) so both my in-laws and my family is rooting for us and are willing to help because they feel this is God's doing and his blessing. I am overall happy to find a forum where I can share my over excitement without sounding too much.... Blessings to you all who are embarking on your journeys to your vow renewals 😊
