Vow renewal in 2020

Rosa, on August 29, 2017 at 2:07 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

So my husband wants to throw me the wedding we never had and do everything traditional. Our 10 year wedding anniversary is August 20, 2020 which will be the date of the wedding. Honestly is it tacky to have a shower and atendents? My dad will be walking me down to my husband since we eloped and non of my family came. Also my son and daughter will be in the wedding. Is it too soon to plan lol I'm excited I've looked at my dream venue which I can't book until next year and I've tried on a dress.

I wouldn't do a shower, may be a nice dinner with invited friends instead?

As for attendants, go for it! I'm sure you both have friends that mean alot to you as a couple. Why not honor them by having them stand by you while you renew your vows?

Definitely do not do a shower. You already had a wedding so pre wedding events should not be included in a vow renewal.

Congrats on your upcoming anniversary and vow renewal planning!

I wouldn't do a shower honestly, but attendants? Sure, just not 10 on each side.

Dad? I'm not really sure about that. A vow renewal isn't a replacement wedding; it's a stand alone event to celebrate the years you've spent together.

I wouldn't do a shower/registry for a vow renewal personally. It comes off as gift hungry. As @Celia said, it's about celebrating the years you have spent together.

Congrats on the vow renewal and major milestone though! Very exciting.
