Hello Wedding Wire community!
My mother and father-in-law will be celebrating their 40th Wedding Anniversary August 9, 2020! My mother-in-law has mentioned for at least the past year that she wanted to renew their vows this year. With this pandemic, that idea got put on the back burner. I brought it up a few weeks ago and am now in the process of planning a party for them! I knew it was something she really wanted, so I encouraged her to move forward with it. The event won't be more than 50 people, and it will be outside at a state park. I booked a pavilion near the lake so we have covered space and can utilize the scenery to our advantage.
My father-in-law is ok with having a party but isn't too keen on renewing his vows. I'm hoping we can convince him before the date actually comes! What I'm looking for advice on or wondering from this wonderful community is, who here has renewed their vows or been to a vow renewal? And if so, what was the day like? I'm looking for ideas of what sort of timeline might be good to use and what wording was used for the ceremony itself. It won't be anything super formal, low-key rustic type of event. But I need some structure in the day or I'll lose my mind! Haha. Help me come up with something short and sweet that can pay homage to their last 40 years together!! Any and all ideas appreciated
