Vow renewal for a bride who eloped during the pandemic.

Nicolette, on May 21, 2024 at 7:36 PM Posted in Planning 0 4

Pretty much as title says.

Hi all, this is my first post here!

We eloped during 2021 when the second wave hit. Everyone knows we're married now but we were talking and we're both sad we didn't get to celebrate with family and friends and have the wedding "moment". We were thinking of having a 5 year vow renewal ceremony with a ceremony and reception party - esentially the whole shabang but not sure if 5 years is too soon or if this is tacky/cheesy thing to do.

Ideas or any input?

Nothing wrong with a 5 year renewal. 1-2 years in, people may side eye it. But 5 years is socially acceptable.

Definitely nothing wrong with this. Plan the dream wedding you didn’t get to have the first time! 💕

I think we’re going to see a lot of 5-year parties from Covid brides! I wouldn’t think anything of it.

Since guests were never invited to your actual wedding, I don't think it's too soon at all.
