Vote for bride/groom with dollar bills

cassondra, on August 13, 2019 at 5:55 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 17

Help!

I was going to use a honeymoon fund box on our gift table but I also saw cute things like the person who gets more money in their side gets cake in the face...

has anyone seen something similar or have another cute idea instead of cake (we actually don't have cake)

If you're trying to make money I had a friend who auctioned off their garter. Like the groom did the whole fun woohoo of taking it off, and then his cousin did the whole auctioner thing to literally sell it. It ended up where people were pooling money to a couple of different guys to help them win. At the end both finalists gave all their money to the bride and groom. I can't say for sure that you would be as successful, but it was fun! Even my FH slipped a $20 into the running Smiley laugh

Please don't panhandle at your wedding or reception.

Cute! We won't be using a garter though but I bet that would be so cute here since we live in a very rural area!

It's common to have things such as the dollar dance, honeymoon fund etc at weddings here. I don't think anyone that is invited would view it as panhandling.

Weddings aren’t money making events. Hard pass.

Again, it is "norm" here to do something similar. I wasn't asking if it was acceptable, I was asking if anyone had an idea where you vote between the bride and groom.

Maybe Pie? Or just a whip cream pie. To piggyback off the auction, maybe you can do a raffle of some sort. Like $10 a ticket, winning a dinner date with the couple.

Gotta agree with PP and say a wedding isnt the place to panhandle. If you want to place a fake dollar bill on their place setting so each person votes once that’s a different story. If I attended a wedding that did this I would be pulling the cash from your card.

Me too, and I am one of the seemingly few people who does not object to a cash bar, lol!! But to be asked to open up your wallet for this? Hard pass and oh look at the time, we gotta go home.

Yes. Whoever wins the raffle, wins a dinner date or double date with the wedding couple.

I like the idea of raffle win a date. Dollar dance is still common in some circles where I live. I like them 😊. Last one the DJ commented it was the most he's ever seen given during it.
