Hey everyone, we are taking engagement photos this weekend and I am also getting my hair trial and makeup trial done for the photos. Please help me choose a hairstyle! I have long straight black hair. It goes down my waist and I ALWAYS wear my hair down. I have always been insecure about my sideburns for some reason or another and when I wear my hair up I tend to get really bad headaches. I had planned to wear my hair down for the wedding and down for the engagement photos. But now I’m thinking I should do something different, since it’s always down. I will post a picture of one of the dresses I will be wearing for the shoot, my second dress is a black fitted gown and I don't have a picture to post. Sorry! I will post a picture of the Hollywood waves I was initially wanting and two other “up-dos / half up - half down" hairstyles I was considering. Let me know what you think! What will go with my dresses? Thanks in advance!

I like the first and third the most. I like the volume and I think either of them would look really cute in the photos.

The dress is beautiful! Will you be outdoors for shoot? If so, I would definitely go with Half up/down #1. Though it’s very similar to #2, it’s little more natural and carefree looking.

I’m shooting for those Hollywood glam waves for my vow renewal!

Yes, the shoot will be outdoors and my wedding is next June, so I know it will be hot. Lol. But thank you! The Hollywood waves will be perfect for your vow renewal.

Hey I like #2 personally because that way your hair is kind out of your face but you'll still have strands to blend in with you sideburns so they wont be really noticeable. That way you still feel comfortable on you day but i do love the Hollywood waves also!

I LOVE the first pic, soft glam and the last one as well. The dress is super cute too! this look is hot, you might have to top this with your wedding looks!

I vote third. I am the same way but opposite my hair is always up but I want to wear it down. But I know I'll just end up putting it up, so I might as well just put it up in a nicer updo?

Yes, I totally agree! So our engagement pictures were this past weekend and I also had my hair trial done, so I went in wanting to do something different (half-up half-down), so we did that, but I just was not comfortable. I didn't feel like me, so I told my stylist and she easily pinned it down and fixed some of the curls, but I am in love with how it all turned out and I ended up with what I'm most comfortable with and so for the wedding I am wearing my hair down! Lol.
