Vistaprint invitations with picture....glossy or premium white matte?

This may be a dumb question, but I am not sure what kind of paper to use for our invitations. We have a photo that is in the background of our invites. Vistaprint's website says that they recommend using their glossy for invites with pictures but I keep wondering if the quality would be as good as the premium white matte stock. I just have in mind some cheapo-looking, flimsy glossy paper but I just don't know. Would using something other than glossy make the invitation look like junk since there's a picture on it or would it still look good on the matte stock paper? Has anyone had a photo on their invitations? If so, what would you recommend?

We did our save the dates through vista print and ordered matte finish even though they had a pic. We really liked them! I have seen save the dates on either paper, but I feel like for an invitation I would definitely go matte.

Matte would be my suggestion too. Vista did our STD also and they were Matte.

I think matte would be a good choice . I'm doing my invitations tru Vista print too

We do photo Christmas cards through Vista. We always get glossy which is awesome for our Christmas cards but I think the matte would be a better choice for the wedding invite...a little more subtle.

We did our STDs on matte paper. It was a large photo of FH and I, but it still turned out great! I would go with matte for an invitation. I ordered regular glossy business cards for our "details" card and I'm re-ordering them in matte because I think they look weird for an invite.

I'd say matte as well. We used glossy for our Save the Date cards only because it was an engagement photo.
We wound up using linen for our invitations, and even though it looks very nice, the paper is much thinner than I wanted.
