That is such a cool idea! I had an in person tasting at the beginning of the year, but this is such a neat alternative!

Wow that sounds like a good combo

My fiancé and I did a couple of months ago ... and we’re long distance so the bakery sent a box to me in Florida and a box to my fiancé in Texas. We had a FaceTime cake date! It was so much fun!!

That sounds like a yummy combo and a fun way to do a cake testing! My children’s stepmom is making our cake and she is planning to have cupcakes for us when we go up to purchase their suits mid October. We’re doing fall flavors and I’m really excited to try the cupcakes.

Yes, we did that - our bakery offered mini cupcakes to take home.

This is ideal form me, as I'm a hypoglycemic and can't eat a ton of sugar at once. DH cut each mini cupcake up and we started swapping frosting around.

It made for a great little date night at home!

My fiance and I did something similar! We picked up cake samples from multiple bakeries, and spent an entire weekend doing tastings in our hotel room (we're doing a semi destination wedding in our state, so we had to travel to get there). It was so fun, and so much less pressure than if we were to have done the tasting at the bakery!

This is such a cute and fun idea had no idea this was a thing! That sounds like it is going to be a delicious cake!

That sounds awesome! I made my own cake but I still made sure to stop at every cake booth at every bridal show I went to!

One of the bakeries we looked into had that too! He gave us six cupcakes and about 20 fillings and 4 types of frostings. It was insane. Our worst idea ever was to try all of them at once.

YES! we also had our like this. We decided on Coconut cake with cream cheese and fresh strawberry filling. It's so yummy and will be sooo unique. We had so much cake we were able to share our tasting with my family to help decide.

Afterwards we had a follow up call to discuss our thoughts, design, and requests.
