Hello Ladies!

Specifically Virginia brides - August bride here, reschedule or try to ride it out?
My wedding is scheduled for 8/22 in southwest VA. While the cases haven’t been terrible in that area, I feel as if there hasn’t been much clarification given by Governor Northam as to what to expect in the coming months as far as restrictions go. I know most of the state has been cleared to move into Phase 2 Friday, but again not many details on exactly what that entails or what is expected other than a 50 person limit at celebrations.
In addition to worrying about the restrictions, 100% of our guests will be traveling. Some near, some far - but all will be traveling and staying. This concerns us as well - for everyone’s safety and comfort.
How are my VA girls handling? Thinking of each of you, this is a really stressful time for us all!

We moved our date from April 18th, 2020 to September 19th, 2020, thinking things should be settled down by then. 🤦🏻‍♀️ July came, and we saw it slowly getting worse, so we contacted our venue to move again. They didn't give us any approval info for DAYS, and I was pacing a path through our floorboards. Finally, our venue called back to tell us that we HAD to stick with September 19. At first, I was livid, then crushed at the realization that most of my half of the guests wouldn't be able to make it. Finally, with the help of several brides here, we decided to push through and make the best of the situation.
Now, if the governor agrees to back things up, what becomes of the venues that refuse to let us move again?tenor.gif

Y’all I don’t want to sound dramatic but I’m terrified about what he is going to say tomorrow. Part of me is praying he won’t back it down and the other part of me hopes if he’s going to do it he just goes ahead and does it so I’m not this stressed leading up to the wedding.
I only have 25 days to go 😭

I hope none of you are Hampton roads brides. The governor just said that effective Thursday night at midnight, gatherings are limited to 50 people, indoor dining is reduced to 50% and alcohol cannot be served after 10pm with all restaurants having to close by midnight.
It’s just the Hampton roads area and he said this order will be in place for at least two weeks.

I’m getting married in Hampton roads in November. This just stresses me out.

Living in Hampton Roads, but SOOO glad we're getting married in Richmond! We don't have any plans for alcohol at our reception, and our guest list is now Really small, but after the fear of losing our wedding plans altogether (knock on wood!), I've got a renewed hope and determination to pull this event off as our family's party of the year.

Unfortunately I’m a Hampton roads bride that’s having my wedding in VA Beach (I currently am in Arizona) but I am having up to 50 or less people and my wedding was intimate before covid. I do hope things get better by September though.
