I always envision a vintage dress, candlelight service in an old chapel, candles on table with more vintage type flowers (baby's breath always comes to mind for me), softer hues ivory, light mauve, sage

farmers table set up, much more natural wood throughout

What exactly are you looking for? Inspiration pictures? Where to find decor? Do you want a certain decade as your focus or general across the years?

Take a look at Pinterest or Ggogle to start and go from there.

Pick an era and take inspiration from it, but don't feel like you have to make it feel EXACTLY like that era.

    - Look on etsy for a vintage dress and/or jewlery! There's some amazing options from all decades (personally love Edwardian, 50s, and even 90s) out there. I used to follow a bunch of good vendors until I bought my dress - let me know if you're interested and I can dig up some names. I love that some brides wore little gloves with their dresses in the 50s!

    - Have your bridal party also choose dresses from your era - matching on style instead of color. For example: 50s A-line dresses.

    - Take hair and makeup inspiration from vintage trends. You don't have to look like you timetraveled, but you could modernize pincurls for example.

    - Create a table with a current vs. older photo of key family and bridal party members (even if not old enough to be "vintage").

    - Thrift old crystal vases for your arrangements.

    - Borrow some items from your parents or grandparents like a tablecloth, piece of furniture, cake servers, platters, etc. (I think another poster mentioned this as well). If these items aren't available, hit up some of your local thrift stores.

    - For signage, try to use a style and font that was popular in your era. For example, modern calligraphy is popular right now but the "atomic" style was more in during the 50s for example.

Just a few fun ideas to consider. There's a lot of ways to be inspired by a past decade without having it look costumey or like an exact replica Smiley smile Pinterest all the way.

    Hi Esther,

We are planning to have a vintage/victorian theme at our wedding. We came up with the idea kind of on the fly when we were at the stationary store picking our invitations. To start, Our invitations will be accented to embossed lace and the inner envelope sealed with wax.

Here are some inspo pics for our wedding that may help you. Anything that is gold in the photos will be silver or ivory. Our guest table cloths will be ivory with an ivory damask lace underlay and the sweetheart table and accent tables will be ivory damask lace overlays.

Here's a few ideas I found in terms of decor. I'd say some antique looking frames and old wooden crates are always a nice idea. And you could use an old suitcase for cards! I love the idea of renting vintage style furniture, that's very trendy right now too.
