Viennese Hour?

April, on March 11, 2022 at 4:42 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 3

Is any one doing a Viennese Hour? I am going to for sure! I would love to know what you are planning to serve! I am thinking of serving mini tarts or tartlets, blondie brownies with wedding colored frosting, cheesecake bites, macaroons, , mini cannoli's, and some sort of shot glass dessert. We wills use the cake table after the cake cutting to set up the desserts.

We aren’t though we did consider it for maybe 5 minutes. It would be wasted with our guests because they all look forward to cake at a wedding and can have cheesecake or pie or cookies any other time. The current trend for weddings according to Pinterest and Instagram is a Viennese Hour, though most couples call it just a dessert table. While we haven’t seen it in person at weddings we have attended, the trend/suggestion is to skip the cake entirely and serve other desserts instead.

The odd thing is that brides online at least say they and their guests don’t eat cake but they prefer cupcakes. Which are the same exact thing, ingredients and texture. A wedding cake slice is a lot less messy to eat. As an example, I had a cupcake at a party recently and what didn’t end up as crumbs in my lap was frosting on my face because there is no dainty way to eat them. I can’t imagine being in fancy clothes attempting that.

My parents had a Viennese hour at their wedding in 1980! Not sure what exactly they served but I know it was quite elaborate!

Not sure if I see he point in this. This is the first time I have really heard about it. Sounds the same a having a dessert table which maybe why I haven't heard of it. I don't see why not to have one, I love the dessert tables. I'm don't really but love the cheesecake bites and mini cannoli's. So I would defiantly be at your Viennese hour.
