Videography: Highlight or Full length?

Catti Labelle, on June 14, 2017 at 6:25 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

As I'm thinking about our budget and our priorities (videography is not that high on our list, but we don't want to cut it out entirely), I'm a little torn on whether to get the cheapest package with just a highlight reel (4-7 min.) or pay a bit more for a highlight and full length film.

What are all of you doing for videography? And for those who are already married, how long are your wedding films and are you satisfied with the length/content?

I'm getting both. Just the highlight wasn't an option but I wouldn't have gone for it.

We get both as well. If you're already paying the base rate to have them there the whole day and it seems to make sense to me to pay a little more for the full film. 5-7 minutes is not enough to me to justify the cost of a videographer without having a full film in addition to that.

My package includes both and some footage from the rehearsal as well.

I have not gotten my video yet from NST, but we paid for a 5 minute highlight, and a 25 minute feature film. They had 15, 45, and 60 minute feature films, but decided that that 25 minutes was more than enough.

Watching it ALL would be agonizing. What Gymmie is getting I'd think is perfect.

Highlight and full-length, but we are only having one videographer (small wedding). Is highlight video and raw footage an option?

    Ok thanks everyone!

@julybride, I found a videographer I like with an a la carte option. I just contacted him, so it's possible that I can get both highlight and full-length, while cutting out some extras from the packages available (like DVDs) and saving a little cash.
