Videography for Ceremony Only?

GoneAndMarried, on August 28, 2014 at 3:42 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 16

Hello,

I am not having a videographer for our wedding, because well its simply not in our budget for coverage. I haven't really looked into this with local vendors, but does anyone know if companies do "ceremony only" videography? I am thinking probably not, but if someone knows otherwise correct me!

Thanks!!

Yes! Yes! Get one for your ceremony for sure. We didn't have one and regret it. A friend used my flipcam for the ceremony and first dances and we are soooo grateful!

Yes, any videographer should be able to work with you. Doesn't hurt to ask. I did and they gave me a quote.

    Edit for spelling :/

Yes - it's probably just a shorter time frame that you have to pay for. Thats a great way to save $$ but still capture the big dau!

I love the idea, but you're in prime season. Depending on the time of your ceremony, it might be hard to find someone to commit just for an hour or two.

But I do love the idea.

We found someone to come for 6h. Not really just ceremony, but that's what I could find. Just start looking now, and maybe you'll get lucky.

We had a talented amateur film maker friend do ours, and are thrilled to have it. It's worth at least asking the professionals.

We have the full ceremony on video but I do miss having the speeches and our dance as well.

Ours is $995.00 for full day 1 videographer with just the uncut footage. That's with a $200 discount. We are getting married in St. Louis

I'm in the Midwest, the company I want to use is seriously like $2200 for the day. Their videos turn out like a true cinematic experience. It would be hard not to use them. I'm trying to find room in the budget for it.

We do not have one but are thinking about using the webid ones where you get 3 video cameras you give to guest send them to them and they edit it. It's for $600

My wedding is in Wyoming and when I was looking into quotes for videographers, the local places wanted $5000 starting. I placed a request for bids up on 100 Layer Cake giving my budget as 2k-3k. I got several quotes and found a company that I love at a price I can afford.

I say try placing a request for bids over at 100layercake.com and see what you get!

My videographer filmed us getting ready, the ceremony, and about 30 mins of the reception. We also met with him after the wedding for some additional footage. We got an amazing deal. I've seen a teaser trailer and it looks amazing. I hired a kid who owns his own business on the side and works for another cinematography. We paid $800 and had 2 shooters on the day of. If you can find someone with a budding talent its worth it. Mine had different packages and was willing to customize.
