Fiancé and I are on the fence whether we want to have a videographer for the day! For those brides who didn’t have it did you wish you did? For those brides who did have the film do you appreciate you have it? Just like to hear different thoughts on this! Thanks!
We didn’t have a videographer for my first wedding and I didn’t miss it at all. A friend took it upon themselves to record parts of the wedding. But it’s something we looked at all of probably 1 time. So, for this second wedding im not hiring video again either. I think short 5 minute video edits that highlights the main events of the wedding are nice. But, watching the entire wedding all over again is a no for me. 🙃
We’re not doing one cause only time I could even think of it being useful is for a slideshow at our 25 & 50 yr anniversary in which all honesty even then we could make a picture slideshow with pics from the wedding photographer
We weren’t originally going to hire a videographer due to it not being in our budget, but since we decided to postpone to next year we figured we would treat ourselves to it. I’m actually so happy we decided to hire one because I think I might have regretted not having it the more I think about it. The specific company we went with does a very nicely edited 3-5 minute highlight video and then gives you all the raw footage from the day to do whatever you want with, which I think is perfect for us.
My FH and I didn’t book one originally with our photographer. However, with everything going on we are still getting married on our org date 9/25 but with only our immediate family and bridal party. Our cocktail/reception was postponed to next year. We decided let’s do a video and can play it for all our family and friends in the background at the reception. No sound but have it play for them to be able to watch.
I’m torn on this too! I want videography mostly for the reaction when I walk down the isle + wedding videos always make me cry like a baby - I can only imagine how beautiful my own would be to me. But I also know I’ll watch it a handful of times and then maybe watch it once every few years so i’m not sure if it’s really worth the price tag..
We set up a camera on a tripod so we at least have something. I couldn’t imagine not having some kind of video of the day. I don’t miss or regret not having professional video. I’ve watched our ceremony maybe twice, maybe 3 times, in the almost 2 years we’ve been married and only once all the way through.
It was a must have for me, but my husband felt it wasn't necessary. It wasn't listed as an item in our original budget, but we had the money to splurge on one. I'm so glad we did. I love our wedding video. It's amazing getting to rewatch our wedding day whenever we want. I plan to watch it every anniversary.
We did have a videographer and we’re very thankful we did! We both write our own vows and I didn’t remember his after the wedding. It’s also nice to have a video of parts of the wedding that I didn’t see (my grandfather escorting my mom down the aisle, flower girl / ring bearer going down the aisle).
I treasure my photos and they are absolutely wonderful but I still tear up every time I watch my wedding video.
I had really wanted one through my whole wedding planning process, but it wasn’t going to fit in our budget. My MIL ended up gifting it to us, and we unanimously agreed on purchasing the less expensive option, and since my hubby is in the tech field, he would edit the video once they send us the raw footage. It came out beautiful! If you’re able to we do recommend it! You’re going to be very busy that day, and it’s nice to see things you weren’t able to the first time, like your friends and family’s faces as the ceremony processional starts. It’s so sweet!
We just hired a videographer last minute (wedding is this October) and we're both super excited about it. Our decision to hire one was mainly because of covid. Since we had to cut our guest list way down, I wanted a nice quality video to share with our friends and family that couldn't make it in person. And luckily we found one at a really good deal! I'm looking forward to watching it and reliving our wedding day!
We didn't have one and I don't regret it at all. Now, our wedding was yesterday so maybe take that with a grain of salt, but we also had a device free day for everyone other than the photographer, and it was really nice to not feel like every second was being recorded the entire day. (It kind of was, because the photographer was taking pictures the whole time, but there was only one and a photographer's camera feels a lot less intrusive than a videographer's camera).
We decided to get a videographer for ours because I didn't want to regret at least not having it, even if we only watch it once in a while. But also, everyone always says the day goes by so fast and you won't even remember certain things because it will just go by in a blur, so I'd love to have something to watch so I can experience those special moments again.
