For those that didn’t hire a videographer: how did you record your ceremony?

I just found a company called WeddingMix which I'm looking into as an alternative to a videographer. Their packages run between 300 and 700 and basically you encourage your guests to download an app and take video/upload to their app. WM will then edit all the footage together for a full-day video from the perspective of your guests. I'm not getting married until this fall, but I also thought it was cool that I could download the app and start collecting footage of dress shopping, planning, etc and have everything from the planning to the day in the final cut. I really didn't want to go without a video but I also don't have an extra $1400+ in the budget for a videographer so this seems like a good option.
