Videographer just for the ceremony

Weddinglover1991, on November 12, 2017 at 2:52 PM Posted in Planning 0 5

I have been thinking a lot about videographer for the wedding and was wondering if anyone just got their ceremony shot. I really want a video of our ceremony - saying vows, etc. but videographer is expensive. So i thought a good compromise would be just doing the ceremony and not getting ready or the reception. Has anyone done this?

I haven't done this, but I will say that sometimes the lowest package is an hour or two, so you could sneak in some getting ready shots!

I'm fairly certain that our videographer is just going to video small segments of the reception, and when she's not videoing she'll basically be the second shooter for my photographer

To cut cost, we hired the videographer to cover pre-ceremony and ceremony only. Also, our photographer only took photos of the us, our immediate family, and bridal party only. This way, we got a lot more photos for our money. We hired film students for the guests and reception.

    ETA:

Our first dance, cake cutting and signing our marriage license were covered by the professionals. However, the let the film students cover as well for their portfolio.
