Videographer for a short time

Gabby, on July 15, 2021 at 1:28 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
Has anyone hired a videographer for just 3 or 4 hours but also done a first look? I would love for them to capture our first look but I don't know if it works out logistically. I want almost all pics done before the ceremony so our first look will be at 3 and ceremony starts at 6. Maybe I'm overthinking this.

I only have a videographer for the ceremony, no first look. But I'm sure this is all something you can discuss with a professional to see what they can and cant do! I'm sure someone will accommodate you with what you need.

Discuss with them, to see what they recommend, You could try to push the first look back (do you and your bridesmaids, him and his groomsmen, you with your family, him with his family) and then do first look then any group shots, including group family with your FH/you with each other's respective families. That could allow your videographer to capture the first look and still be there for ceremony.

Hi Gabby! Do you need a full three hours for pictures? I'd try to find a way to trim down on that timeline if possible!! Can you do family photos quickly after the ceremony? Or do solo portraits and bride + bridesmaids & groom + groomsmen pictures separately before your first look?

If you could move your first look to 4pm, then four hours of videography would cover your ceremony and a good part of your reception as well! 🎥

The first look is at 3 and we want be hidden by 515 incase people arrive early. We're only doing a 30 minute cocktail hour so most pictures will need to be done before the ceremony.

Gotcha!! So I think you have two options...

Option 1: Spring for 5 hours of videography! This way they can arrive early to capture your 3pm first look and provide video coverage until 8pm - which will cover your ceremony, cocktail hour, and start of the reception.

Option 2: Only have your photographer capture the first look! With this option you aren't paying for videography for 3 hours of just photo-taking time and can have them arrive at 5:30 and stay until 8:30 or 9:30 and capture all the important stuff. And you could have a bridesmaid or groomsman take a cell phone video of your first look if your want something personal on video!
