How do you work the guest book? Can guests sign themselves up or do I have to do it manually?

A guest book is meant to be signed by the guests themselves. You can have it laying out on a table at your reception. If you want, you can have someone be there to help direct guests to it, but if you do that, I suggest having someone like a day-of coordinator (if you plan on hiring one) do that and not make family members or friends “work” on your wedding day.
