Verragio Fit Right Solution

Alison, on December 2, 2021 at 9:08 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7

Hi guys! I need some help! I recently purchased a Verragio wedding band (TR120-2WR) at a discounted price from a local jewelry store that was going out of business. I purchased a size 6.5 ring and I am closer to a size 5. My true size is 4.75. When I purchased the ring, I did not realize how unique Verragio rings are and how difficult it would be to get my ring resized, or else I likely would not have purchased it. I found a jeweler who was super nice and willing to work with me to contact Verragio and look into my options. The first option includes selling back my current ring and purchasing a new ring in my correct size - cost altogether would be an additional $1,400 to what I already paid. My second option includes the "Fit Right Solution" which allows Verragio to apply a guard inside the band so as not to cut the metal to resize the ring. I am told Verragio will resize my ring down 1 full size for free, to a 5.5, and then I can apply this Fit Right guard and get it down to my true ring size of 4.75. The total cost for this was much more affordable, close to $250. Has anyone ever purchased a Verragio ring and used the Fit Right solution? If so, what are your thoughts? Some people have said it makes the ring uncomfortable to wear. I am in a tough spot because everyone keeps telling me to just sell the ring I have and start over and buy a new ring. But I also don't want to spend too much more money on my wedding band. I'll attach a picture of the ring too! TIA!

Personally, I would go with the cheaper option and hope it was comfortable enough to wear. I say this because I couldn’t imagine spending another $1400 for a ring that you won’t be able to size in the future. Most people have to have their wedding bands resized multiple times in their lifetime; which means you will probably end up having to purchase a new band at some point in the future- so why spend $1400 now and then have to buy a new one again later?

    Cece,
That’s a great point. People have mentioned that fingers can get bigger or smaller as we age and/or if I’m blessed enough to have children. Thanks so much for the response!!

For what it’s worth, my engagement ring was a bit loose when I first got it so I just used one of those cheap spiral sizers as a temporary solution until I could get it sized. At first, it felt horribly uncomfortable and distracting. But, after just a few days, I didn’t even notice it anymore. It felt so normal to me that I ended up not even getting my ring resized! Sometimes people miscategorize some thing that feels new/foreign to them as “uncomfortable”. I couldn’t imagine a sizer could feel that terrible- it would probably just take a small adjustment period. Also, there is the option of having sizer beads put on the ring. I know several people who have gone that route and they all say it is quite comfortable and they don’t even notice the beads anymore.

Also keep in mind that your fingers swell seasonally!! Your rings will always be a bit snugger in the summer and looser in the winter, so resizing to a 5.5 and using the ring guard might be the perfect solution as you get used to your ring!

Is this ring a full eternity? Resizing it could cause the stones to fall out eventually

I pictured a plastic bracket but googled the Right Fit, and I think it looks really nice! I would give that a try.

The diamonds only go 3/4 of way around! But I guess because the ring is two-toned, the rose gold cracks more easily and can cause fissures. So that’s why I guess they prefer not to cut it if possible!
